UK Sport: evaluating the impact of Elite Training Centres on local communities
UK Sport supports 14 ETCs (Elite Training Centres) across the UK, to deliver world-leading environments to accelerate athlete performance.
As part of their mission to ‘inspire the nation’, UK Sport wanted to understand how the presence of these centres and athletes impacts local communities.
We delivered a highly robust and representative sample of residents in two local authorities where ETCs are situated, those at the Universities of Bath and Stirling.
Detailed findings gave UK Sport information on public engagement with sport and the ETCs themselves and their perceived value. The findings were used to define the strategies that had most potential to increase engagement and to inspire, and with which audiences.
